be kind rewind

1. Casting; Do the actors suit the roles that they were cast in? Are they believable as part of the reality they are in?
a. Jack Black as Jerry Gerber
b. Mos Def as Mike
c. Danny Glover as Elroy Fletcher
2. How does technology impact the community at the beginning of the film? At the end of this film?

I do believe that the character Jack Black played did suit him. As the character seemed to want to have fun, was over genetic with energy and a bit crazy. He seems to always act those types of characters, which was a perfect match and act.

I never seen Mos Def act before, but the character he acted seemed to fit him softly, into a calm, funny person. The character Mike was acted well.

Danny Glover is a guy i have never seen in other movies but i thought he played well his role

2.Yes i do believe technology can over impact your business if it seems lacking down. If something comes toward your business or shop, its a start to begin to over develop.
Questions for #4 media appreciation!

1. Discuss and review the two BP Oil ads. Why does BP Oil choose the images/style it does to use in their ads? What is the target audience(s)? Which images stick in your mind and why?

2. In light of the current disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, is BP’s slogan (Beyond Petroleum) and Logo (the flower) appropriate?

3. Consider responsibility; considering that it was BP’s oil rig that burned in the Gulf of Mexico and the resulting oil spilled would have been BP’s profit, do BP and other oil companies deserve to be ridiculed, made fun of, and/or satirized?

1. The target audience would be mostly teenagers, as the effect of cartoons catches the eye, and the catch frays for the night and dark poet. As the teenagers begin to get their licence for driving. As the add will over come the mind that it says its a little bit better, and better for the environment,

2. I dont see any harm on the flower logo they show for their company, as its a symbol towards the environment. I do think its appropriate to the fact its resembling responsibility towards.

3. In my opinion i do think that this is all a situation, due to the oil spill is effect our world dramatically. It doesn't mean they should be made fun of, as for the other companies, it will show bad influence. Nothing will change and time wont make anything better but cause more destruction.

Media future

1.Find “something” new that we’ll see in the future?
I think that we might see in the future over developed will be Ipods and cellphones. Sooner or later this will expand into many categories. As there will be touch TVs, touch keyboards, touch everything! Soon everything will be touchable and less active [Force] for our bodies. Soon cars will have touch buttons inside, or it will be digital 3D. I find everything might be mind controlled to. But how everything's going to start is; Iphones would begin to project out of the screen lens and be touched by air.

2.What is the immediate use for the maker’s product?
The immediate use can be for many things, for the future. It can be used for calling, texting, remote, Tv, video games, reading; name anything by now? Producers will produce this product every thousands an hour, as it is introduced in every country. Then consumers, us human beings will begin to buy and make use of them more frequently.

3.What impact will this product have on us, the users,and/or the world?
This product may effect us in a bad and good way. On the negative side, this will bring our active side to a lower base. People will begin to be maybe more indoors and not contacting with other people in society.
Also on the positive side, i do believe this will help us for communication and other situations we need help by certain people in a certain distance or location.

Buffolo Bill

1. Give at least 3 examples (with details) where the lines between reality (history) and entertainment (media) became blurred during the life of William Cody (AKA Buffalo Bill).
Everything around William Cody, was evolving to fast when popularity over came him. History and entertainment can change up a bit of a persons life, to what they are towards their families and audience. William Cody was a regular man, trying to provide money to his family. Then all at once, everything happened so fast. People began cheering and shouting his name, as he began to preform to the world. The power he now had ,changed and blurred to what he was once known. It over came to his mind, this wasn't exactly what he wanted. Plus his decisions didn't apply to the right choice.
2. What reasons do we have to call Buffalo Bill the “original world celebrity”? Explain.
Buffalo Bill created the vision of Hollywood and celebrity, before everyhting has started today. Buffalo bill took stand in his life, and took a chance in order to become a know and succesful person in life. This shows comparison to other people of now a times consider media into negativity and destroy their careers. He then took in command to his duties, and never turned to what he enjoyed. He took risks and knew if it didn't succeed, and keep believeing to the end. This is why many people admired and attended to achieve like him. Everything wasn't about popularity or money..It was about having determination. That is what made him the "The original World Celebrity."
3. How could Buffalo Bill have benefited from new media? Who would have been some of his Facebook friends?
Media now a times can blow us away. There are extreme ways to communicate or to access across the world in todays culture and society. There are news on television or internet, magazines, newspapers, adverstisments, the internet, Facebook, Twitter, Tag, Myspace, telephones and much more that we can think of.With theses newly sources that keep developing, is no doubt easy to access anybody you know or anything you need.If Buffalo Bill had any of these accounts [Ex; Myspace & Facebook], which is a main source that everyone uses to stay in contact. He would most probably have -> Ned Buline, Texas Jock, His wife Lousi, Dock Carters, Nate Soulsburry, John Bork and Sitting Bowl.

Video games

Where do you place yourself or your peers in video game culture? Why?
>Video games, are like a part of who i am. It's something I'm great at, like no other girl that i know. I play video games more with guys, because that's their thing. Its fun playing with my boyfriend and friends, we have so much laughter and amusements along it. Sometimes when i do catch my attention to others, I'm not that addicted to some, like i do around me. I could last maybe 2-3 weeks without touching my ps2 or ps3. But it shows who i am, and its something i can't ever stop doing.

What do you see in the future for our culture and the impact video games will have on that future?
>Towards are future, in my opinion i believe that the technology on games will evolve incredibly. As maybe games will be mind controlled, or pop out of are screens blowing are minds off. As it attracts new borns, and people around the world. New ideas will be released and the challenges moves on.

Discuss one thing (quote, statistic, etc.) from David Perry's talk that you found interesting.
>One thing that i found interesting of the presentation he spoke about was when he showed how the video games developed from the past, till now. It was funny how everything was black and white, slow motioned as it showed the pixels, to everything so reality and fast. My parents have a hard time with all the colors and the speed to the game. The graphics are going to improve more then we know, as games will never out run are lives.

Good website: -> www.photoshop.com
The reason why photoshop.com is a great website is because this is close to a fun way to edit pictures, instead of using the complicated software. This website is probably the most intuitive and the simplest way to modify a photo. It might not be the most advanced place to modify, but its a fun and helpful site to use. It flows fluently, as its a catch up and have fun! The design is simple and well presented as the colors blend. The fonts are read able and easy to see and read. This site can also explain and anolise you to other sites similar and show you what photoshop is all about. As you can have your own account, and photo album.

Bad website: -> www.facebook.com
The reason to why i find facebook a bad website is because i don't find it really important to the cause of our lives, but dangerous and able to contact friends or siblings. If your a beginner things can be a little complicated in hands, if you don't understand how it works like Myspace. There are cool things on the site, but to my opinion it's majority stupid and a waste of time, unless your really bored and have nothing at all to do. The appearance as no effort in it, its to simple and plain. The fonts are normal as they can be, nothing new, as the information should be over protected then over shown,

Questions 2\3

1. Have we reached this point in our entertainment "experience"?
Are world has reached close enough to entertainments who seem suffering to them but amusing to us. It doesn't have to be entertainment but its also around us from satellites watching us right now from are every movement. Their are other shows unnoticeable from some audience, but in the end its just a fun surprise. Not like in the movie it was offly unexpected and yet something harmful knowing everything was set and not reality.

2.Is Truma's whole world fake or is it real? Is what Christof says true or is he justifying the world that he created?
Truma's world wasn't something compare to real, it was all plotted out. Everything was just a set up, as it was all an act but not True feelings from the purity of a humans heart. I don't think it's real on his point of view, but it can be to how the world can live up to at points. Soon the world would be taken over by technology. Christof doesn't know the feeling to be trapped inside a fake world that someone created, or simple been stalked and filmed by something not faced to reality. If Christof was in his position, he would do the same thing that Truma did in the end.
